Dynamic Combinatorial Chemistry is an exciting and new field in chemistry. This will be the first book which explains the basis and applications of dynamiccombinatorial chemistry, a emerging field in chemistry with a bright future also regarding applications. This timely book is the standard reference in thisfield.Joost Reek received his PhD in 1996 in the group of Prof. R.J.M. Nolte in thearea of supramolecular chemistry. In January 1998 he became lecturer (senior lecturer in 2003) in the group of Prof. Van Leeuwen with research activities focusing on transition metal catalysis. He received numerous grants among whichprestigious VICI grant. In 2005 became a young member of royal Dutch academy of sciences (KNAW) and in 2006 he was appointed full professor at the University of Amsterdam. Sijbren Otto received his Ph.D. degree in physical organic chemistry from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands in the group of Prof. Jan B. F. N. Engberts. After one year in the United States as a postdoctoral researcher with Prof. Steven L. Regen (Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania) he received a Marie Curie Fellowship and moved to the University of Cambridge, where he worked for two years with Prof. Jeremy K. M. Sanders on dynamic combinatorial libraries. He started his independent research career in 2001 as a Royal Society University Research Fellow in Cambridge. In 2009 he movedto the University of Groningen in the Netherlands where he is associated withthe newly created Centre for Systems Chemistry.
