Logistics Engineering and Health presents innovative optimization and modeling methods to provide decision support for the management of logistics systems. Such systems are often dynamic and stretched over large-scale networks, generally in the forms of autonomous interacting entities. Logistics in the health field are changing in concert with the broader demographic, socio-economic, and regulatory evolution, particularly because of new organizations and new modes of assessment. Awareness of the major challenges posed by care management systems and the management of various hospital flows is becoming stronger. Healthcare and hospital workers must control the flow of process issues (i.e. patient information, products, equipment) and the restructuring resulting internally in the pooling of resources, especially technical platforms. Many health professionals are neither prepared nor trained to solve such problems, lacking the methodologies and decision support tools and management skills adapted to the requirements of their future modes of operation. The authors provide solutions to problems encountered in the management of logistics flows and the study of systems incorporating these flows. However, faced with the increase in the complexity of the logistics flow and the requirement for quality and speed of decision, it is necessary to address these challenges in an innovative approach to organizational, economic, technological, and informational optimization.
