The 91st London Mathematical Society Durham Symposium on 'Numerical Analysis of Multiscale Problems'' was held at Durham, UK, from July 5th to 15th 2010, with more than 100 international participants attending. This book contains 10 invited articles from the meeting's key speakers, including all those who gavethe six short courses of three lectures each. The articles cover a range of topics of contemporary interest in the numerical analysis of multiscale problems, including analysis of forward and inverse PDE problems in heterogeneous media, of high frequency wave propagation, of atomistic-continuum modelling and of high-dimensional problems arising in modelling uncertainty.
