This book will organize and present the most up-to-date, evidence-based information on the evaluation and management of all aspects of proximal femur fractures. Initial chapters focus on anatomy, biomechanics and surgical approaches to the hip. Subsequent chapters demonstrate the management of femoral head and neck fractures, including pediatric and elderly patients, followed by intertrochanteric and subtrochanteric fractures and nonunions.  Also included are chapters considering medical issues and quality and patient safety for hip fractures. The format of the chapters would include epidemiology, classification, initial management, operative vs. non-operative strategies, surgical techniques and complications. Each chapters includes a section on evidence-based considerations, and authors present their preferred methods of treatment as well as include case examples, where applicable.
