Displaying families: a new concept for the sociology of family life

This edited collection uses the concept of 'displaying families' as a new wayto understand contemporary family and personal life, addressing how, in a world of fluid relationships, family life must not only be 'done' but also be 'seen to be done'. ESTHER DERMOTT is Senior Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Bristol, UK, and the author of 'Intimate Fatherhood.' JULIE SEYMOUR is Senior Lecturer in Social Research at the University of Hull, UK.
